Marshall Strickland came off the bench to score 20 points, Bracey Wright added 19 and Pat Ewing Jr. produced the first double-double of his career to help Indiana past Morehead State 77-57 on Tuesday night.
It was Indiana's largest victory margin of the season and came just three days after Mike Davis endured his worst loss as the Hoosiers' coach.
Morehead State (4-4) struggled all night. Its only legitimate scorer was Ricky Minard, who finished with 26 points and moved into second place on the school's career scoring list. Minard's 1,926 points are second to Herbie Stamper (2,072).
Davis, angered at the Hoosiers performance against Kentucky, promised changes Tuesday -- and he got them. Indiana (5-4) used three new starters -- Ewing, A.J. Moye and Ryan Tapak -- and each had a hand in the team's big turnaround.
Ewing finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Moye had 14 points and Tapak ran the Hoosiers' offense almost flawlessly. Indiana had just three turnovers in the first half and 13 for the game.
It was a rout almost from the start as Wright scored the first eight Indiana points and the Hoosiers went on a 14-0 run to take a 22-7 lead just 9:45 into the game.
Chez Marks hit 1-of-2 free throws to halt the run momentarily.
But Indiana, sparked by four straight 3-pointers from Strickland, then went on an 18-0 run to make it 40-12. Strickland finished with six 3-pointers.
Morehead State trailed 44-21 at the half and never challenged in the second half.
